On Thursday February 16, 2012, the GATE project organizes its final symposium.

Katelijne Schrama (film maker) is the winner of a recent 4K-contest of Cinegrid Amsterdam. Of the many entries for the contest, the jury decided to follow her proposal to film red blood cells in 4K.

The winners of the national Dutch contest to develop applications with open data of the government, Apps voor Nederland (Apps for The Netherlands) are: Vistory (Gold), 10.000 Schools (Silver), Sola (Bronze) and HogeNood (Public Award).

On 26 January the winners of the open data apps contest Apps voor Nederland will be announced at the iBestuur congress in Utrecht.

Waag Society develops iYou, in cooperation with Niels Schrader and Bert Kommerij het project iYou, an open software project.

The third edition of the Fab Academy has started, the main educational program of the Fablab Network, offered by labs around the world.

On 22 February, the first edition of Shanzhai Mashup will he held in the Fablab at the Waag.

The second winterSALON/ in Amsterdam will be held from Saturday 21 January until 5 February 2012. The Waag is one of the participating locations.

Future Ideas is a national thesis competition for students and young professionals in the field of innovation and entrepeneurship.

Waag Society is partner in the preconference workshop program of the Social Cities of Tomorrow conference, that will be held on 17 February 2012 in Amsterdam.

OBJECT Rotterdam is the fair for contemporary design and will be held during Art Rotterdam in the opposite Las Palmas building.
