Ivaldo Bertazzo about dancing with young people

Brazilian choreographer Ivaldo Bertazzo auditions young people for dance projects. A number of years ago he established his own dance school in São Paulo that is funded by the local government and sponsors. "My objectives go beyond the purely artistic," says the famous choreographer.

Possible sequel to restoration of historical officer's dwelling

The Nola Hatterman Institute (NHI) in Paramaribo held a festive re-opening on 24 October. Underprivileged youths restored the institute's historical housing under the guidance of professionals. A sequel to the project in the near future is already being discussed.

African musicians combat malaria

April 2005 -

Musical super-stars from the African continent performed on 12 and 13 March 2005 in the Senegal capitol Dakar to support the fight against malaria. The two-day benefit festival, with performers including Youssou N'Dour, Baaba Maal, Orchestra Baobab, Manu Digango and Salif Keita, was primarily intended to draw attention to the dangers of malaria and the need to improve prevention.

Tangencya investigates African modernity in Durban
