The Power of Culture

Policies for Culture is a cooperation programme of the European Cultural Foundation and the Rumanian ECUMEST Association. The programme supports the development of cultural policy in South-eastern Europe by means of activities including workshops, research, debates and conferences.

The website is a valuable source of information for policy makers in government and the cultural sector, offering news and views, a list of all projects to date, and a discussion forum. A large number of the articles and reports are available as .PDF documents.

In the Artists’ Corner, artists express their views on a variety of topics, such as subsidies in the art sector, the foundation of a museum of modern art in Ceausescu’s former palace, and relationships between neighbouring countries in former Yugoslavia.
