In ‘UNESCO and CNN: Two Media Giants’ Jean Pierre Guépin expresses his doubts about the desirability of something like an ‘international BBC’. UNESCO, Guépin mentions, is a media giant itself. It pretends that it is trying to achieve cultural diversity and, consequently, that it is standing up for the interests of all civilizations. According to Guépin, however, UNESCO is a huge propaganda machine promoting the values of the Western Civilization. Strangly enough, it also acts as if it agrees with cultures that oppose the Western values.
