RAIN Artists’ Initiatives Network is a network of artists’ initiatives in Africa, Asia and Latin America that have been set up by former participants of the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam.
The advancement and progress of these artists’ initiatives is supported via RAIN and the exchange of art, ideas, techniques, cultural heritage and know-how between these initiatives (south-south) and with the Rijksakademie platform (south-north) is stimulated. RAIN offers artists from more peripheral, non-western regions a platform to build up direct contacts, projects and strategies with each other and to make a manifest contribution to the global art platform.
A number of initiatives receive support from the Prins Claus Fonds.
