Seeing / being seen

South Africa and the Netherlands see each other. As an extension to the Family Stories exhibition in the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam, the web site Seeing /Being Seen follows the daily lives of nine families from South Africa (mail the families!).
The site contains contributions from South African journalists about the Netherlands and from Dutch journalists about South Africa. There is a lot of reading material about the history of 350 years of relations between the Netherlands and South Africa. This exceptional journalistic project is an initiative of the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism, The Cultural Helpdesk (South Africa), and the Dutch Institute for Southern Africa.
